I work with idiots

Wow:

I clicked on the twitter blog and what do I see but I work with Idiots. Sorry did not read it but it set my mind reeling. Do I work with idiots? Well who doesn't? Folks, and I hate to say it, but we are becoming the fat lazy Americans the world sees us as. I am an old guy almost 50 so I have been around a while and because of my own stupidity have had many jobs in many parts of the country. And I can tell you this the new generation of people I have worked with, and that has been quite a few, have little or no work ethic. Now I may get blasted for saying this and it's not every one of you. But the Internet and video games has turned this nation into fat lazy slobs. I have worked with kids who actually hide at work, stand around do nothing til a boss walks by and act busy, and just plain could not care less. What ever happened to pride in your work? Plain old get 'er done? With this sort of attitude and everybody wanting more more more sit back and watch all of our jobs end up in India and Mexico.

I may be a cynical old man but what happen to"we came, we saw, we kicked it's ass?. Translation at the end of a hard day's work actually giving high 5's for just flat out getting stuff done, stepping back admiring your work, or just knowing that you did in fact git 'er done? Look around where you work how many people actually give a damn? How many are looking for the next thing to do? How many are rushing through or half assing it so they can fiddle around at work? Then look around and see how many are working hard, taking pride in what they are doing, and are really concerned with what is best for the company. If it's anything like where I work the slackers far out weigh the workers. And I will say this, when the company goes belly up, south of the border, or lays people off left and right the slackers will be the ones pissing and moaning and wondering what happened.

To me this all boils down to political correctness, don't get me wrong oh no. Prejudice, sterotyping, and general dislike for anyone because of race, religon or sex is bulls**t, and I firmly believe that. Howevere PC has gone way way too far. My wife is a manager at Wal-Mart, where they spend as much time having meetings about new rules on how not to offend anybody as they do running the store. We have moved from a world where rather than worrying about your job because you're not doing it, to one where people figure they fire me I'll just sue their asses. It seems to be the prevailing attitude. Like I said look around your work place and evalute what you see. You may dissagree and that's cool but when the next big company goes south of the border or over to India then open your eyes a little wider and re-evalute what you see.

Sorry for going on a rant but people this is where this country is like it or not and as long as we keep hippity hopping down th PC trail it will only get worse. Yahoo, and I can't believe it ,ran on their home page an artcile entitled something like" How To Get Ahead By Screwing Around At work" I am paraphrasing of course but that was the general idea. I didn't read it because I don't have time I work 40 hours a week, take a night class at a community college, and try to run an adult website on the internet. But wth are they thinking? I am baffled what inspires someone to write this crap? Why would Yahoo publish it? And what message is this sending out?

Do I work with idiots yes, are idiots in positions of power yes, and are we headed down the tubes as a nation yes. I could go on for hours and hours about this crap but I got stuff to do. So if you read this tripe look around and see if I am not,at least to some degree, correct.

Oh and sorry but all the SEO sites say I have to refrence one blog to another to get noticed. This was not the intent of this rant but I got to do what I got to do and be aware the other blogs contain links to adul content.
